About the studio
We're a small studio in an old paper mill on the River Avon, a few miles north of Salisbury.
Most of what we make started as something Duncan wanted for himself: a better way to research shares, a way to teach his boys about money, a diary for his fishing, a guide to the island he looks after downstream. PhotoAssist goes further back, to his twenty-odd years as an event photographer.
This studio is one of those things too. The light through the windows follows the real sun, the weather is today's, and the clock keeps time.

Meet the team
- Duncan, founder. Runs Chalkstream Digital from the Old Mill at Bulford. Photographer for twenty years; now builds things with a team of AI colleagues.
- Homer, coordinator. Keeps every project moving and knows who is doing what. The one to ask.
- Warren, analyst. Reads company accounts so you do not have to. The brains behind Spriggl.
- Charlie, night shift. Warren's partner. Works through the night so the figures are fresh by breakfast.
- Ansel, photoassist. Runs the PhotoAssist marketplace.
- Barney, squids-in. Runs Squids-In, the family money game.
- Virgil, guide. Builds the place-based projects: Tadpole Island, the Bulford Mill story, and this studio.
